And The Netherlands try to be a leading country in almost everything even euthanasia and the boundaries in that field have been stretched in an unimaginable way. The Do Not Resuscitate or DNR-statement is nowadays misused to end lifes of people on unreasonable grounds. I saw that happen with my mother. They just gave her morphine five times a day (that kills you indefinitely!) when she was in a weak episode, but without any physical suffering. When I noticed and said that, they stopped with the morphine and she lived another three years. The Corona measures in 2020 in combination with the DNR-statement present gave them a carte blanche and finally killed her in solitude, I'm sure of that. Something has really changed last years in the way they treat the elderly in the last phase of their lifes.
Yes, I live in Canada but remember seeing the documentary online and reading some of the op-eds the following week. I think a reporter from 'Katholiek Nieuwsblad' wrote something like: "Committing murder with several million viewers." That's exactly what it feels like.
I hope some people in the US or Canada are shocked to see how the state/media manufactures 'consent' and how easily the suffering argument and consent are pushed aside. This is not about dignity. This is about killing.
Absolutely. But I also remember a parody sketch from Kees van Kooten and Wim de Bie and the way a part of the public also has no problem of getting rid of their old parent(s). It goes as follows. A man and his wife want to go on wintersport an before going he advises his mother to take a high dose of sleeping pills before going to bed every day instead of the usual low dose. But she doesn't trust it and asks the reason for this change. But we never see the result of it but it showed the easiness with which such decisions could be made and normalized nowadays also within the public domain. It was a parody from the eighties but this duo already noticed some change in the way people might see the elderly as a nuisance to their own life. But this is also how governments more or less see it. And that is also an anti-social policy indirectly promoted by Yuval Harari by his statement that one should get rid of all the useless eaters. And governments listen to this BS they promote.
Old people were also one of the main targets of operation C19, although they claimed it was for their own benefit. The reality showed exactly the opposite and they knew. So there's also sufficient proof now that a lot of people were intentionally killed.

I recently saw an interview with Austin Fitts, Ed Down and Carlos Alegría where they addressed demographics. AS real eye opener for me was when Alegria stated that people in the workforce actually start making money after the age of 45. Before that age, a lot of time/energy is spend on study, family, financial committments, lack of experience.
Bureaucrats and humanity-challenged people like Yuval, are very short sighted when judging and making their cost-benefit analysis on human life. The contribution that elderly bring, cannot solely be expressed in money, but in transfer of skill, knowledge, experience, love, harmony...all the things that make families and communities flourish. I love how the natives always speak of elders and not elderly.
I fully agree, money must not be the driver for determinating the worth of a human being. Look at Gates, he is as rich as can be but worthless and even detrimental to society. Actually I shouldn't get personal but he is a good example of how a person shouldn't be.

Who determines if a life is not worth living anymore? My mother talked often about her struggles with life at her old age, she became 93 by the way, but when it came to the decision of finishing her life I always said it should be her and only her decision if it should come to that. But in the end I always could talk her out of it, and she didn't have the courage I guess to step out of her life voluntarily. Do I think the last three years of her life, I think our bond was so big that we understood each other, and we always had wonderful conversations which meant a lot to me. Now when I'm writing this I get emotional. I learned so much from her.
Anyway, thanks for the conversation and I hope when we get that old we are treated with respect. With the same respect I treated my mother and my father. They made me the way I am now, and that fact alone is priceless. 🥰
Thanks, Renate, this article is very informative, and provocative. I am totally averse to euthanizing anyone. God decides when and where folks are to surrender their souls. A presumptuous sin is committed by euthanizing a person. Clearly, evil minded people are the pro-euthanasia supporters, while God's people admit that vengeance and length of life are the domain of our Creator and Sustainer. God bless you David, at one point in my life I was propagandized enough to believe euthanasia was a 'right'. If I can wake up from that manufactured, demoralized state, I reckon others can too. I clearly see how, once euthanasia is approved to end suffering, there's no way to stop the journey down the slippery slope. The state will use any argument to save money (or comply with orders from supranational forces) and they will employ the people willing to kill for a living. The media will manufacture consent. There's only one way to stop this, and that's to stop playing God and start acting like human beings again.
